Every project is tailored, every system is smart, and every light tells a story.
Vegas Lights is a technology-driven company specializing in advanced indoor and outdoor lighting and home automation solutions. Founded on the belief that lighting should be both beautiful and effortless, Vegas Lights delivers systems that combine high-resolution illumination with intelligent automation—bringing sophistication, comfort, and efficiency to modern living.
Our founder identified significant shortcomings with existing smart lighting technologies. Systems were overly complex, difficult to operate, and prohibitively expensive for most consumers.
Recognizing the opportunity, he developed an innovative platform prioritizing ease of use, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness—without compromising performance. Click Here to learn more about our founder.

Whether illuminating a modern home, a luxury estate, or an outdoor entertainment space, our mission remains the same: to simplify smart living and illuminate your nights.
In the mid-1980s, as the personal computer revolution was just beginning, our founder was already pushing the boundaries of what technology could achieve. He played a pivotal role in developing one of the first PC-based scoring systems for the bowling industry—a groundbreaking project that fused early networking, hardware innovation, and digital imaging.
“A typical bowling center had 32 lanes,” he recalls. “Each pair of lanes featured multiple PCs bolted inside a custom fiberglass enclosure, with large RGB monitors overhead and an amber display at floor level where players could enter their names. The lanes were also networked together using one of the earliest networking protocols available.”
The system was revolutionary. Using some of the first black-and-white digital cameras from GE, the team captured images of pins and analyzed pixels to determine which pins remained standing. Engineers on site and from Ball Aerospace designed two custom boards that would convert the digital data from the camera data and translate that into meaningful scoring information displayed on the monitors above. This information was also sent over a network to a master server, where it was recorded, audited, and used to calculate charges for daily play and also transform how bowling centers managed league play.
This early experience sparked a profound realization: technology could transform not just entertainment, but business itself. “The world was about to change,” he recognized.
In 1988, he founded his first IT company, delivering turnkey networks and business software solutions to small- and mid-sized industrial distribution and manufacturing companies throughout the Carolinas. The company built custom workstations and servers, networked them together, and provided consulting, implementation, training, and customization of the limited MS-DOS-based business and accounting software available at the time. Yet he noticed a critical challenge: the software was complex and not user-friendly, preventing many companies from realizing its full potential.
The release of Windows 3.0 in 1990 opened new possibilities. Our founder immediately recognized that the Windows interface could make business software more intuitive and accessible. By early 1992, after securing a dedicated development site, the company began creating a Windows-based business management solution.
Guided by the “Keep It Simple, Stupid (K.I.S.S.)” philosophy, the company designed software that was powerful, flexible, and easy to use, helping companies streamline operations and work more efficiently. By late 1994, the first commercial version launched, and the company experienced rapid growth.
In 1998, the company joined a prestigious technology center sponsored by IBM and the University of North Carolina at the University Research Park in Charlotte, NC. This milestone accelerated product development and expanded sales channels. By 2001, the software had earned a place among the Top 10 Small- to Mid-Range Accounting Products for Windows—a testament to its innovation, reliability, and enduring impact on the market.
As the Internet and mobile technology advanced, a new opportunity emerged. Broadband, high-speed mobile networks, smart devices, and lightweight tablets enabled businesses to operate from virtually anywhere. Our founder recognized that critical business information should follow the user—not the other way around. Flexibility had become essential.
In 2011, the company embarked on its next major evolution: developing a cloud-based version of its software. Las Vegas was selected for its robust technology infrastructure, capacity for large-scale innovation testing, and proximity to Silicon Valley. By 2014, the cloud platform launched, enabling customers to work seamlessly from any location, on any device. Over the next several years, most clients migrated to the new system, embracing unprecedented flexibility and accessibility.
From early PC scoring systems to intuitive Windows software to cloud-based platforms, this journey reflects a consistent vision: leveraging technology to simplify work, empower businesses, and anticipate the evolving needs of the modern workplace. What began as a single innovative idea in a bowling center evolved into a platform that continues to transform the way companies operate—anywhere, anytime.
